About this product:
We only deal in fair trade practices. Our recycled vintage sari Kantha quilts are entirely hand-stitched by artisans in India. "Fast fashion" practices have made the global apparel and textile industry one of the most corrupt industries in the world. It results in unethical labor practices, huge amounts of toxic pollution, and landfills full of waste.
When you purchase a recycled sari Kantha quilt from us, you can be assured of ethical treatment of the artisans through fair trade practices as well as enjoy the fact that you are supporting the earth-friendly practice of recycling.
Your Kantha quilt has been freshly laundered upon arrival into the U.S. so it is ready to use. When you are ready to wash it yourself, simply wash on delicate cycle in cold water and tumble dry on low or hang to dry.
NOTE: Because of the vintage sari material used and the nature of the Kantha stitch, some pieces may have patching, fading, or loose threads. This will not affect the quality of your throw, but instead, adds to the lovely vintage feel.
Kantha quilts are made using vintage recycled cotton saris. Kantha is a type of running stitch that has been used for hundreds of years.
